Skype for Android makeover brings new UI and video messaging

Microsoft has updated the Skype app for Android (version 4.0) revamping its user interface inline with the company’s modern design philosophy seen in the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 versions of the app. The update is only available for Android phones at the time of writing of this post but Microsoft says that it intends to bring an updated app for tablets very shortly.
The redesigned user interface gets rid of clutter and offers Recent, Favourite and People tabs listing the user’s recent chats, list of Favourite people and all Contacts, respectively. One can just tap on a name or a chat thread to start chatting, sending files or video messages or initiating a video or voice call. Adding people is also easy through the add icon located at the bottom within the chat thread.
The two shortcuts for the Skype dialler and for initiating a new conversation are omnipresent across the three tabs, putting communication in focus. However, the Settings and options to change your status, add Skype credit and sign-out are now available from the Me page that can be accessed by tapping the Me icon from the top right corner.
Microsoft says that it rebuilt the Skype for Android app from the ground up to be faster and more reliable. It adds that it focused on stability, performance, and load time while giving the app a makeover.
Th new update also brings the recently launched video messages allowing users to send and receive unlimited number of video messages from their Skype contacts. Through Skype Video Messaging, users can record a video message of up to 3 minutes and send it to people on their contacts list if they’re offline. The recipients will be able to watch the video message when they sign-in next time.

Brutal attack on AAP volunteers by Delhi police

Delhi police brutality! Yesterday many of our volunteers were brutally beaten up by the Delhi police for protesting outside the police station asking for the police to register an FIR in the case of a  young woman who was confined and raped for 2 days in Gokulpuri.  The picture (see below) and videos of the incident shows the viciousness of the attack on peacefully protesting young men and women.  Several of them were admitted to the hospital with broken bones and bleeding wounds.  When one of our volunteers asked for water, he was offered urine.  (Read the  news report  in 'The Hindu') Volunteers are our strength and when the police beats up any one of us, each lathi, each blow is a pain inflicted on all of us. Gandhiji’s freedom fighters had to endure the same brutality at the hands of the British rulers. Little did we know that this unjust treatment would continue even after we got independence and this time at the hands of our ow...

The Secret To Create Immediate Attraction

Here’s one of the great ironies of dating: The women who say that you’re a guy that “any girl would love to have as a boyfriend” are also the LEAST likely to actually go out with you. Heck, you might be what those women would call “quality boyfriend material”, but for some reason, they themselves would NEVER want to get romantically involved with you. Ask them on a date, and these women who think so highly of you will also be the first ones to also turn you down. You know why? It’s not because they’re lying to you or playing head games. They truly believe every word they’re telling you. The thing is, they can’t see themselves being the actual woman in the relationship they think you’re so ready for. In other words, these women feel no CHEMISTRY around you. And that’s really what attraction is all about: hardwiring a woman’s mind to see you in a certain way. Women who only see you as a friend can only imagine you ending up with someone who deserves you. However, their fr...
